One on one tutoring can make all the difference to children.
Multiple programs to choose from to fit your schedule and preference:

Community Based Tutoring: Give a child individualized attention on a regular basis and coach them though everyday challenges to improve their skills and confidence in your community. Strongly suggested be consistent connection with child.

Child Abuse and Criminal Clearance FREE for volunteers
FBI Security Clearance Reimbursed by RSVP
DMV check if transporting in community

School Based Tutoring: Give a child individualized attention on a regular basis at a local elementary school and work together on improving academic, social relationship and life skill issues. Strongly suggested be consistent connection with child. NEW! Starting a literacy program in Uniontown Elementary Schools. During the school days lunch hour. Volunteer as little as 2 times a month for a little as an hour.

FBI Security Clearance Reimbursed by RSVP

After School Tutoring: Volunteer at a local center in Uniontown to help to encourage students from Kindergarten through Middle School to develop and fulfill their academic potential. Background check required & reimbursed.

Fayette County Community Action, Inc. is a non-profit 501 (c)(3) organization founded in 1966 as a community-based, multi-serviced agency

Our promise to the community states that "Community Action changes people’s lives, embodies the spirit of hope, improves communities, and makes America a better place to live. We care about the entire community, and we are dedicated to helping people help themselves and each other." We operate over 60 projects and programs to address emergency needs such as food and shelter for the underserved, unemployed and homeless as well as focusing on long term needs which empower and equip individuals and families to achieve self-sufficiency.

While you do not need to be a part of this program to volunteer with us, one program we operate, our Retired Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP) is a volunteer referral and outreach program designed to develop meaningful opportunities for people ages 55 and older to participate fully in their community and help meet critical community needs.
