Be a Halloween Helper! Every year, the Troy Historic Village hosts a big trick-or-treating event, inviting families to collect candy, make crafts, play games and more in and around our historic buildings. For this year's 'Toys n' Troy'-themed event, the Village will be transformed into a giant toy chest, filled oversize and larger-than-life playthings--guests will enter under the enormous Radio Flyer Wagon, play with the giant Slinky, alphabet blocks and Legos, build a kid-sized log cabin and play pin-the-tail on Cheddar the Village Mouse.
Volunteers are needed to:
- Help with event set-up from 9:00am-12:00pm
- Help out during the event by handing out treats, assisting with crafts, monitoring use of the big toys, serving apple cider, and more, from 11:30am-2:00pm or 1:30pm-4:00pm. Enthusiastic, outgoing and costumed volunteers are especially needed for these tasks.
- Help with event take-down from 3:30-5:00pm--some heavy lifting involved

Description
The Troy Historical Society is a nonprofit organization with more than 40 years of success in preserving and presenting the history of our region. On July 1, 2011 the Troy Historical Society assumed responsibility for operation of the Troy Historic Village, where history lives. The Troy Historic Village includes ten historic buildings, surrounding a village green that is enhanced by gardens and mature trees. A tent and gazebo on the green provide areas for outdoor concerts, storytelling and reading aloud. There is ample space for picnics and traditional activities and games. Our historic buildings host concerts, lectures, discussions and meetings, as well as exhibits of arts and artifacts.
The Troy Historic Village is a destination for students, children, families and adults who live in or visit southeast Michigan.CAUSE AREAS
