Pathways serves hundreds of adults learning English and preparing for the HiSet (formerly GED). Many of our adults come from backgrounds with limited formal education, and need extra help in basic literacy and reading skills.

Seeking a committed, qualified volunteer to work with adult learners in a 1:1 or 2:1 setting, or within the context of classroom instruction.

Current and Retired Reading Specialists, Students of Education, and interested parties encouraged to apply. Experience required.

The mission of Pathways (formerly Operation Bootstrap) is to create pathways to jobs and education for lower skilled adults in Lynn and the North Shore area by providing free classes that support our students' education and career goals .

Description

Pathways (formerly Operation Bootstrap) is an adult education center in Lynn, MA, serving adults in the Lynn area by providing classes in ESOL (English for Speakers of Other Languages), Adult Basic Education, GED/HiSET preparation, and US Citizenship. Started in 1976, Bootstrap has served over 15,000 students over the past 40 years. The current roster of 300 adult students comes from 32 different countries around the world.
