Mission Statement
Bringing volunteers and communities together to improve the homes and lives of low-income homeowners.
Description
Rebuilding Together Aurora is a volunteer based not-for-profit organization that provides free home repair, safety modifications, and energy efficiency upgrades to low-income seniors, individuals with disabilities, veterans, and families with small children that own homes in the city of Aurora, Illinois. We are one of nearly 200 affiliates of the national Rebuilding Together (www.rebuildingtogether.org) organization, whose vision is to provide a safe and healthy home for every person. Our mission is to bring volunteers and communities together to improve the lives of low-income homeowners so that they may live in warmth, safety, and with independence.
Since our affiliate's founding in 1993, we have provided repair to over 1,000 homes, reinvested $2.5M back into the community, and annually engage over 900 volunteers in our mission.
Volunteers are utilized to provide: hands-on repairs to homes; plan and implement projects; provide administrative support throughout the year; assist on individual event days.
