Purpose of Role:
Help us serve lunch to members of our Weinberg Center for Balanced Living to ensure seniors that need it have a hot, healthy meal to eat.
Key Responsibilities:
- Set tables with numbers, cutlery, napkins, condiments and water prior to meals
- Ensure cleanliness of tables and room both before, during and after meals
- Serve meals to seniors once they are seated
- Collect tickets from seniors in exchange for their meal
Qualifications Needed:
- This is a customer service position, so best for people that are friendly and personable
- Strong verbal communications skills
- Professional demeanor
- Some experience in food service is a plus
- Some experience interacting with seniors is a plus
Time Commitment:
- Weekday shifts available 11:15am-1:00pm
- One-time or ongoing commitment
Training/Support/Supervisor:
- Program Supervisor: Ruth Sanchez
- Training: You will receive hands on training during your first shift and in subsequent shifts, if necessary
- Support: Staff oversee all shifts and are available for questions or guidance

The Educational Alliance Art School uses the study and mastery of fine arts to forge connections between students and master teachers. Afterschool programs serve community needs for recreation, fitness, education, and college preparation. Community and cultural programming invites deep conversation and calls to action.
The Manny Cantor Center is the flagship building of Educational Alliance, a community-based organization offering a wide range of programs that integrate education, social services, arts and recreation throughout the Lower East Side and East Village. Created to assist Eastern European Jews immigrating to NYC, it has been serving the area since 1889. Educational Alliance has grown and changed as the Lower East Side has; now serving the diverse population that currently resides here.
