Mission Statement
Our mission is to improve our immediate and surrounding communities by assisting adults who have become or are at risk of becoming homeless regain life skills and find permanent housing.
Description
The vision and mission of Project WeHOPE ("WeHelp Other People Excel") is driven by our belief that in transforming lives, in helping people help themselves, an entire community can be changed by building up indigenous leaders and developing individuals into healthy, whole, and responsible members of society.
Our organization has been in existence since 1999, beginning as an outreach ministry of St. Samuel Church in East Palo Alto, California. Led by Pastor Paul and First Lady Cheryl Bains, the ministry served San Mateo and Santa Clara counties by providing various programs for youth and families. As more opportunities to serve the East Palo Alto community arose, they launched a separate nonprofit organization in order to better focus on providing programs and services that would transform lives of East Palo Alto residents and those that may have lost their homes.
