The Ocean Park Rescue Squad needs help planning, directing, and coordinating activities, press releases and newsletter offerings designed to create and maintain a favourable public image and raise awareness for our organization.

Communications and Media - Knowledge of social media, communication, and dissemination techniques and methods.
Public Relations - Assist to prepare newsletters and other company literature. Release promotion literature about the Station. Help draft speeches and presentations for use by Station Officers. Write press releases and media kits. Assist as possible with Fundraising campaigns to ensure consistent message across all communication with the public.
All applicants will be required to work through Virginia Beach Department of EMS application process and agree to required background checks and screening process.

Our Mission is to assist in the saving of lives by providing emergency medical services and to enhance the quality of life wherever we are called upon by providing education, training, and support for our membership, as well as facilitating the highest quality of pre-hospital care for the citizens living in the Ocean Park area and the City of Virginia Beach.
Description
Since 1942, Ocean Park Volunteer Fire and Rescue Unit Inc. (OPVRS) has been a long standing volunteer organization providing emergency pre-hospital care services to the Ocean Park area as well as the greater Virginia Beach metropolitan area. In addition to providing medical care, volunteers provide training and awareness of medical issues and services to the local community through visits to schools, civic groups and events, organized events at the station and sponsorship and hosting of ongoing events such as health fairs and blood drives which raise health awareness and contribute to the overall well-being of the community.
