Friends of Youth operates The Landing, an emergency young adult shelter for people between the ages of 18 and 24. The Landing is open 7 days a week and is located in Redmond. It is the only emergency young adult shelter on the Eastside. In addition to being a safe place in times of crisis, it provides young people with resources and referrals needed to exit homelessness.
We are looking for volunteers to help out with our morning and evening shelter shifts. Volunteers can expect to assist the Landing staff in shelter function. In additional to help staff, volunteers will have time to develop meaningful and constructive relationships with the young adults. The intention of this position is to kindle trust, honesty, and responsibility.
Morning shifts run from 6:50am-8:15am--perfect for volunteering before your work shift!
Evening shifts run from 8pm-11pm--perfect for volunteers with flexible evening schedules!
