Help Students in Need Eat During Fall Break

Hard to believe but one in four children in Arizona has known hunger. Worse yet, some of those kids may go from lunch at school on Friday until Monday morning's school breakfast service without a meal; we're proud to have a backpack program to assist them. But what happens over Fall Break? Some kids will struggle to eat without these vital school programs. United Food Bank aims to help change that with seasonal break emergency food and produce boxes.

WHAT YOU WILL DO:

Work with a team of volunteers to pack produce boxes with a variety of fresh fruits and vegetables that can be part of a week of nutritious meals and snacks. Sign up online at: http://www.signupgenius.com/go/10c0c4eaaa62fa6f94-produce

NOTES ABOUT THIS VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITY:

This is a warehouse environment. During the summer, it can be warm. Cold, bottled water is provided. Please wear comfortable, family friendly clothing (t-shirt and shorts are great!) and CLOSED TOED shoes (no flip-flops, sandals, or peep-toes are permitted; sneakers are ideal). No storage is available for personal belongings. Please keep personal belongings to a minimum.

Volunteers do NOT need to complete Volunteer Orientation for this opportunity. This activity is limited to ages 16 and up.
