Marywood is an Independent Living Community for low-income individuals age 62 and up, in addition to those with disabilities. We are in need of volunteers (18 and up) to brighten the day(s) of our lovely residents and to help with programming needs as we strive to increase socialization.

Activities Coordinator: Seeking an energetic and creative individual or duo to organize and/or facilitate group activities on a regular basis. Persons interested must be resourceful.... Experience is a plus!! Part-time Volunteer Opportunity!!

HolidayEvent Planning Committee: Come Celebrate with Us!! Seeking individuals to help plan and organize holiday functions so our residents never miss an opportunity to celebrate and make new memories.

Arts & Crafts: Seeking creative individuals to take the lead and facilitate various Arts and Crafts activities on a weekly basis.

Game Night: Join us for Game Night every Wednesday- bingo, rummikub, cards are just a few of the many games we play. We love to learn new things so feel free to bring your favorite game to share!!

Music Concerts and Sing Along’s: They say America’s Got Talent...Well ladies and gentlemen tune up your instruments/vocal cords and share your talents with us. Our residents are music enthusiasts and would love to hear from you!!

Movers & Packers: We are in need of movers and packers to "assist" our wonderful residents pack their belongings with care and maneuver their furniture from room to room to allow for new carpet installation, apartment re-painting, or apartment transfers.

Mobile Food Pantry Distribution: Volunteers are needed on a bi-monthly basis (2 nd Tuesday of the month) to help unload the Central VA Food Bank truck and bag grocery items for our wonderful residents.

Resident Café : Join us for lunch Mondays at 12:30 PM. Bring a bag lunch and engage in light hearted conversation with our wonderful residents!! Homemade treats and goodies are always welcome.

Resident Birthday Party: Party with us!! Party Host(s) and Servers with outgoing personalities needed to make our monthly birthday parties special and fun for residents.

Staying Fit: Come workout with us!! We are in need of volunteers to keep our residents motivated and healthy. You can either participate in a class already in place, or teach a low-impact class of your own. We are always looking for new ways to stay fit @ Marywood.

Translation Services: We are a Multicultural Community in need of volunteers to provide translation services for programming needs including translating documentation in Russian or Vietnamese.

We offer flexible schedules, and of course a caring group of seniors that would love for you to join our Marywood family, especially with the holidays right around the corner.
