Your non-profit drug and alcohol prevention group called Hillsboro Empowers Youth aka "HEY" is working towards another application for the Drug Free Communities Grant (DFC) and in preparation for that, is accepting applications for volunteers. Applicants may serve the community in many ways. HEY seeks additions to its’ Board of Directors. The Board meets on the third Wednesday of the month in Hillsboro for a Noon time meeting. Board tasks are considered light work, with a commitment of less than five hours a month a good expectation to have for your commitment. The work leans toward policy and procedure with a focus on governance of the organization, in contrast with direct support and contact with youth.
Adding a directorship to your resume’ signals community support and is a delightful way to signal you care. Some tasks may be done remotely, independently, and our group often brings its’ own innovations to share. HEY also facilitates training for its’ Board, Staff and Volunteers. All volunteers use the Board application form, available here: https://goo.gl/VhzsC3
