Volunteers needed for The Village Run/Walk, a fundraiser for Valley Village and The Village Family Services, two critical San Fernando Valley agencies serving underserved populations. VillageRunWalk.org

The race is a 5k along the Orange Line from Sepulveda to LA Valley College. There will be volunteer crews at the Start Line and at the Finish Line, where the Family Festival is taking place. There will also be volunteers placed along the route for water stations.

Volunteer positions at the Start Line include:

  • setup of registration area, volunteer registration area (start setup at 5:00 am)
  • setup water stations/man water stations (be in place by 8:30 am)
  • setup route markers, signage, flags (start setup at 5:00 am)
  • photographer needed

Valley Village has provided services for adults with developmental disabilities in the San Fernando Valley for nearly 50 years. Our mission is to protect, foster, develop and advance the rights and interests of people with developmental disabilities. We manage 18 group homes and 3 day programs across the San Fernando Valley and have a variety of programs where you can make a difference as a volunteer either at one of our sites, or on one of our community outings around Los Angeles County. Since 1971, Valley Village, a 501(c)3 organization, has been a leader in building transformative programs that raise the standard of care for all people with developmental disabilities in the San Fernando Valley. With over 48 years of proven successes, our hallmark approach to a continuum of care for adults with developmental challenges continues to be an effective model for providing dignity, respect, and personal empowerment. Renowned throughout southern California for its dedicated staff, programming, and around-the-clock care, Valley Village serves over 400 men and woman with disabilities as a leader in the fostering, development, and advancement of rights and interest of people with developmental disabilities.
