The Worldview Project is a San Diego based non-profit whose mission is to promote cross-cultural awareness, understanding and appreciation through: web-based resources, programs, publications, social networking and events.

We are seeking an outgoing, collegial, energetic and capable person with great social and organizational skills and experience to:
  • Define volunteer needs and develop volunteer opportunity descriptions
  • Develop, organize and maintain volunteer and intern recruitment strategies
  • Respond to volunteer inquiries in a timely and individualized manner Set interview schedules with prospective volunteers
  • Set, maintain and monitor volunteer work schedules (note: this requires familiarity with common office software)
  • Generate enthusiasm and commitment in volunteers
  • Maintain and update volunteer documents and improve volunteer program and processes
  • Organize volunteer team building events

We are looking for someone who can afford to volunteer in our office for at least 10 hours a week and is able to set a firm schedule and stick to it. We consider this to be a key position in our organization and therefore the responsibilities of this position are greater and require commitment and reliability.

The Volunteer Coordinator position requires interaction with our entire team, a greater weekly commitment is needed then most of our other volunteer opportunities.

Our office is open Monday through Friday during normal business hours.

Mission Statement

The Worldview Project’s educational mission is to promote greater cross-cultural awareness, understanding and engagement. We accomplish our mission through the publication of The San Diego Participant Observer online magazine, the producing of events such as the Harmony & Motion International Music and Dance Festival and the Harmony in Action Cross-cultural Non Profits Fair and through collaborations with other organizations. Our organization’s greatest achievements and involvement are currently within our San Diego community, but we strive to have an impact on local, regional and national levels.
