Trusted Volunteers needed for the Muscular
Dystrophy Association’s 1st Annual Toast to Life Gala.

What?: The Muscular Dystrophy Association’s 1st
Annual Toast to Life Gala presented by New Hanover Regional
Medical Center is a high-profile, black tie event, raising funds for the Muscular Dystrophy Association.
When?: Friday, October 16th, 2015. Volunteers are
needed from 4pm to 11pm.
*Dinner will be provided for all volunteers.
Where?: Hilton Wilmington Riverside Grand Ballroom
Why?: The event raises funds for local MDA families battling neuromuscular disease. These funds help us fund research, hold support groups, have clinics, and send local kids to camp every summer. This experience is unparalleled, and fosters independence, leadership, and self-awareness. Thousands of campers each year say the week they spend at MDA camp is the best time of their lives.

MDA combats neuromuscular diseases through programs of worldwide research, comprehensive medical and community services, and far-reaching professional and public health education.
The Coastal Carolinas District covers 25 Counties in North and South Carolina.
Description
Through some 235 hospital-affiliated clinics, MDA offers quality medical care from doctors, nurses and therapists experienced in dealing with neuromuscular diseases. These clinics also serve as sites for clinical trials of the latest experimental therapies and drugs. MDA also offers about 290 support groups for those with neuromuscular diseases and their families. In addition, each year more than 4000 youngsters attend weeklong MDA summer camps.
