Join the Austin Public Library as a part of our Health Ambassador team!
Health Ambassadors will work directly with the public to assist individuals in learning about library resources as part of a new IMLS grant: My Library Keeps Me Healthy. Volunteers will work with library staff, public health nurses, and a public health educator, to promote health litercy in the community through health screening events and outreach programs.
These events will take place at five libraries (Faulk Central, Little Walnut Creek, St. John, Cepeda, and Terrazas) and outreach programs throughout the city.
Volunteer Health Ambassadors will need to commit to a minimum 4-6 hours per week through August 31, 2016. This will include a minimum 6 hours of webinar and in person training. Volunteers who are bilingual Spanish/English are especially needed!
