Dallas Contemporary is looking for participants to take part in a new performance piece by artist Nadia Kaabi-Linke called Walk the Line. Performers will wrap a string the length of the border between Texas and Mexico around two of the museum’s columns. We are looking for people who have a connection to the border or Mexico (or an interest in the dynamics surrounding border politics) to take part. We are looking for people to take part throughout the run of the exhibition. Participants who commit 10 hours or more to the project will receive a small honorarium Participants will be scheduled to work in shifts during regular museum hours from 19 September - 21 December. Schedules are flexible. Dallas Contemporary is open Tuesday - Saturday from 11.00 am - 6.00 pm and Sundays from 12.00 pm - 5.00 pm. It is located at 161 Glass Street in the Dallas Design District. Dallas Contemporary is a non-collecting art museum presenting new and challenging ideas from regional, national and international artists. The institution is committed to engaging the public through exhibitions, lectures, educational programs and events. Recently relocated in a repurposed industrial building at 161 Glass Street in the Design District, Dallas Contemporary is a unique artspace with a rotating schedule of dynamic exhibitions.
