ORGANIZATION: The San Diego River Park Foundation

Support vital restoration efforts in the headwaters of the San Diego River by helping to plant shrubs and trees at Boulder Creek Preserve outside of Descanso, CA.

Our goal is to restore the Boulder Creek Preserve site, improve the health of the wildlife and aquatic ecosystem and to have fun!

No experience necessary! All tools and supplies will be provided. If you have a favorite pair of gloves feel free to bring them, otherwise we will make sure you have everything you need to have a fun and productive day. Community service hours can be verified.

Please note: You will be expected to make your own arrangements for travel to and from the location site. There will be a portable restroom on site.

The San Diego River Park Foundation is dedicated to fostering stewardship and appreciation of the region’s namesake waterway. In order to protect and enhance the San Diego River as a place for recreation, habitat, and nature discovery, we are dedicated to engaging people to be stewards of the River and working towards the vision of a 52 mile, river-long system of parks, open spaces, and community places.

Description

We organize many different volunteer stewardship activities each month. River Cleanups, native plant gardening, habitat restoration, volunteer leadership, water quality testing, outreach and education, special event committees, technical committees and more.
