Job Summary:
Two readers are needed in the Co-op City Section of the Bronx. Volunteers will read the materials provided by the client. In addition to reading, volunteers may be asked to complete forms, conduct internet searches, and otherwise support a client’s personal reading needs.

Position Responsibilities:
Travel to and identified location.
Read materials provided by the client.
Assist clients by completing forms and/or conduct internet searches, etc.

Requirements:

College level reader required.
Ability to navigate the Web and the PC environment, knowledge of Weebly (a website program).
Ethical character and reliable.
Trustworthy.
Strong reading voice.
Able to read for an extended period of time.
Strong commitment to service required.

Currently, reading opportunities are as follows:

Co-Op City Section of the Bronx - Volunteers will read the materials provided by the clients. In addition to reading, volunteers will be asked to complete forms, conduct internet searches, and otherwise support a client’s personal reading needs. The Reading session are on Friday 10:00 am - 12:00 noon or 12:00 noon - 2:00 pm.

Details of the Opportunity: Please note that reading to a client is an on-going opportunity. Volunteers must be available 2 hours once a week, for at least 6 months.

Participation in this opportunity will require, the completion of a supplemental application for off-site readers and a new volunteer interview.
