The heart of our education program lies with our Docents who foster exploration throughout our facility and in outreach programs. Our formal in-house programming focuses on elementary students. In addition, we have preschool and middle school classes available. Docents are expected to be familiar with eight curricula.

Founded in 1859, the Missouri Botanical Garden is the nation's oldest botanical garden in continuous operation and a National Historic Landmark.
The Garden is a center for botanical research and science education, as well as a 79 acre oasis in the city of St. Louis for over 158 years. A place of beauty and family fun-and also a center for education, science, and conservation.
