We have a homeowner in Lake Katrine who has applied through us for MS Service Day - a day when volunteers help people with tasks they can no longer do or have difficulty doing because of how MS (multiple sclerosis) has affected them. Tasks for this home may include light housekeeping, organizing, yard work, and painting.
Our next Service Day is coming up on Saturday, December 3 from 9a-1p and we really need volunteers in your area - 4-5 volunteers to help!
What would volunteers need to do?
* Be able to volunteer their time from 9AM - 1PM
* Be willing to do the tasks listed
* Complete our National MS Society volunteer paperwork
* Complete an online background screening - it takes just a few minutes. Due to the nature of the program and the fact that we are entering people’s homes, this is a requirement.
* View a short training slideshow (15 slides) and answer 10 questions online about what they

Description
The National Multiple Sclerosis Society funds more MS research, offers more services to people with MS, provides more professional education programs and advances more MS advocacy efforts than any other MS organization in the world. Through its home office and fifty-state network of chapters, the National MS Society provides assistance to over a million people annually in its continuing mission to end the devastating effects of multiple sclerosis.
Seeking out and engaging volunteers to the MS cause is at the very core of our business. Each year the Society organizes a series of community events that provide many opportunities for the enthusiastic volunteer. The Society offers three key fundraising activities: The Bike MS Ride, Walk MS and Walk MS Challenge. The Society also engages volunteers to help influence law-makers at the federal, state and municipal levels toward legislation important to people with MS. The Society is looking for passionate volunteers with expertise in areas such as: marketing communications, public relations, corporate and donor development, medical, legal, administrative and organizational expertise.
