Arlington Energy Masters

The award-winning Energy Masters program is now accepting applications for volunteers.

Join us in making a difference in our community by helping affordable housing residents save energy. Modeled after the successful Master Gardener's program, the Energy Masters program provides hands-on training in energy efficiency and water conservation techniques. Service is conducted by volunteers working in teams to make energy and water saving improvements in low-income apartments in Arlington and Alexandria. Volunteers also engage with residents through community outreach programs and events and activities in schools.

The program also includes a special apprenticeship opportunity for high school and college students.

Training will take place September 30th - November 4, 2015, including five Wednesday evening sessions and one Saturday session (October 24th. In addition to attending the training sessions, volunteers must contribute 40 hours during a year of community service, at which point they will be certified with master status for energy efficiency education.

Details and applications for community volunteer and student tracks are available online at: http://www.arlingtonenvironment.org/energy

Energy Masters is sponsored by Arlingtonians for a Clean Environment, Arlington Thrive, Virginia Cooperative Extension and our new program partner in 2015, the City of Alexandria.
