ORGANIZATION: American Red Cross - Virginia Region

PLACEMENT PURPOSE
Oversees and supports Government Liaisons within a designated territory. during grey sky/operational response and coordinates/supports activity planning, preparedness and team development during blue skies/steady-state. Coordinates services and necessary liaison activities with local, state, federal and Tribal government partners, non-government partners, private agencies and/or organizations and members of the affected communities for the benefit of disaster clients.

OPEN TIME DAYS
To remain active, must participate once per calendar quarter (participation may include but is not limited to team meetings, preparation tasks, training and/or response).⦆ During steady state, this position requires a commitment of approximately 5-10 hours monthly for planning, meetings, mentorship, etc. ⦆⦆During operational response, this position requires a commitment of at least 24 hours (example:⦆ three consecutive 8-hour shifts) on a response.⦆ The scope and scale of the disaster will impact the length of an operation.
