Volunteer Technology Tutor

Days: Tuesdays and Wednesdays

Hours: TBD

One-on-one technology tutoring for adults and seniors at Matthews Library. Tutoring sessions are 1 hour in length and by appointment only. Tutors work with up to 2 students per day. Tutors will instruct patrons in basic computer use, Microsoft Office, and assist students with tablets, smartphones, and laptops. Most tutoring will be at a basic level, but there is occasional demand for more advanced assistance as well.

Qualifications:

Strong communication and teaching skills are required. Tutors are expected to be dependable, patient and interested in working with diverse populations. Tutors must become familiar with library-specific technologies such as EBooks. Knowledge of both Apple and PC is preferred. All candidates must complete an interview and a background check.
