Volunteers are needed to serve as horse leaders and sidewalkers in our therapeutic horseback riding program for people with disabilities. SIRE offers its volunteers a very upbeat and rewarding experience to be a vital part of allowing our clients to mount a horse and leave their limitations on the ground. 2 locations - Spring, TX, and Richmond State Supported Living Center in Ft. Bend County.

Volunteers are needed outside the arena in areas such as administrative and computer functions, telephone committees, board membership, committee membership, assistance with fund raising activities and special events.

The mission of SIRE, Houston's Therapeutic Equestrian Center is to improve the quality of life for people with disabilities through horseback riding and related therapeutic activities.

Description

SIRE provides therapeutic horsemanship classes to people with disabilities ranging in age from 3-adult. Our therapeutic horseback riding programs can improve client strength, tone, and self-esteem. SIRE has 2 locations that provide services to clients: , Spring and Fulshear, TX. Volunteers are the lifeblood of the program. Some clients need the help of 3 volunteers, a horse leader and 2 sidewalkers. This is a very upbeat volunteer opportunity whether you work in the arena with the clients or help in other areas, such as fundraising or in the barn.
