ORGANIZATION: American Red Cross - Virginia Region

PLACEMENT PURPOSE
Responsible for supporting the implementation of the disaster services program in an assigned geographic territory. Supports the leadership and management of a primarily volunteer team responsible for the implementation of disaster preparedness, response,and recovery programs in the local area. Supports the development and engagement of Disaster Leadership Volunteers, Disaster Action Team Responders & Preparedness volunteers in each of the program support functional areas of the disaster cycle. Operates as a part of the Disaster Management Cycle processes. Responsible for supporting local preparation, response and recovery management as well as supporting relationship strengthening of government partnerships within assigned territory.

OPEN TIME DAYS
15-20 hours per week during steady state.⦆ Increased time commitment will be required during territory or regional operational response.

    • Recovery Services: An Overview
    • CAS Training (as assigned when Direct Client Assistance rolls out September/October 2015)
    • Mass Care: An Overview
    • Concept of Operations Overview
    • Disaster Frontline Supervision/Simulation
    • Collaborating Essentials
