Are you interested in learning about traffic safety enforcement and tools used to keep the community safe while reducing accidents using the Data Driven Approach to Crime and Traffic Safety? Are you able to work independently and be organized?

The City of Sunnyvale’s Department of Public Safety Traffic division is looking for 1 or 2 volunteers to help document/validate traffic complaints. Volunteers will work in pairs or independently to answer phones, log traffic complaints, deploy radar trailer and conduct traffic complaint validation surveys. Volunteers will receive specific training from staff including radar trailer deployment, traffic safety and radar use.

Typical hours: 1 - 2 hour shifts, two to four times a week. Volunteer shifts are Monday - Thursday starting at 0630-0700 hrs. One person per shift is preferred, Monday/Wednesday and Tuesday/Thursday.


Must be age 18 or above, hold a valid California drivers license and must pass a background check.
