Mission Statement

We believe at risk apartment communities are transformed when we unite and invest in residents. Our vision is to decrease crime and unemployment, increase education and healthy family structures for our residents and see these apartment communities transformed through practical service in Jesus' name.

Description

Redwood Living is an apartment ministry [501(c)(3)] for under-resourced communities. We move into apartment complexes to support both the residents and staff, offering fun and helpful on-site activities for adults and kids alike. Then we connect with local churches and service providers to meet needs in our communities. The end result is a renewed community--one of empowerment and improved conditions for everyone. We take our name from the redwood trees of the western U.S. In order to maintain 100+ year lifespans, redwoods network their roots to share nutrients and survive catastrophic fires. They’re also incredibly tall! In the same way, we want to interconnect our neighbors to share resources and experiences in such a way that they can stand tall, stand together, and stand firm. Redwood Living is motivated and guided by the teachings of Jesus Christ in all of our activities and programming. We believe we’re called to be good neighbors, living out the message of Matthew 22:37-39.
