Make a difference in our community! Change the life of an individual and their family by becoming a mentor. We are looking for supportive men who will commit to spending time with individuals who are incarcerated and being released soon. These pre-release mentors MUST be available on Wednesdays from 11-1 and for training on Wednesday moring January 27th. Mentors will work with a small group of men helping them create a re-entry plan for release. By being a guide, friend, and coach in their lives, this relationship will help improve employment, family, parenting, spiritual life and basic life skills. A mentoring relationship reduces the likelihood of the mentee returning to incarceration. Training and emotional support will be provided to each mentor throughout experience. Approval process includes background check, interview, references and correctional departments screening and training process; however, individuals with a judicial history (10years or older) or addiction history are encouraged to participate if they have completed their justice involvement and are in healthy recovery. We have a special need for individuals over 35.
