The Challenge of Ward 7
But it's not all roses...Ward 7, Washington DC is a struggling area. Often neglected and overlooked, it is ripe with potential and promise for the future.
Our Vision
My name is Mark Bey. I am a local resident and leader of the Ward 7 Clean Up Initiative. Our vision is to improve the environment in Ward 7 from the grassroots level up. Together with my growing team of dynamic, community-minded volunteers we aim to assemble a committed, enthusiastic media team to combat the growing problem of litter in our local urban spaces.
Clean Up Dude And Our New Media Team
We are currently developing a groundbreaking new YouTube series based around a charismatic fictional character named 'Clean Up Dude'. He will be our mascot and spokesperson for the clean-up efforts, and will head a YouTube series titled 'The Legend of Marvin Gaye Park - Clean Up Dude To The Rescue!'
Why Clean Up Dude?
The story of 'Clean Up Dude' started when I discovered an action figure discarded in the Marvin Gaye Park as I was collecting litter earlier this year. Finding the figure inspired me to create a strong, visual mascot for the great work we are doing, and will continue to do in the future.
Talent Needed For New Media Team
This is where you come in. We are looking for established and up-and-coming talent in the following areas:
Editors
Writers
Actors (all you need is a Smartphone and your creativity)
Musicians
Your skills are invaluable to us, and it’s a great opportunity for you to gain relevant experience and help a great cause!
Positions For Passionate Clean-Up Volunteers
In addition to the media team, we are still on the lookout for passionate litter collection volunteers to help with our continued efforts to clean up Ward 7. This is a great chance to meet like-minded individuals and play a pivotal role in changing Ward 7 for the better.
