The 2015 Annual Ellen's Run is scheduled for Sunday, September 27th at Candy Cane City in Rock Creek Park. This 10th-anniversary race will be the final Ellen's Run. We hope to make this the best year ever as we all come together for one more time to honor Ellen Schneider's memory.
The race will begin at Candy Cane City at 9am, and we are again seeking our wonderful corps of volunteers to help make this year's race as successful as ever. We will need volunteers starting as early as 7am right through to clean-up around 10:30-11:00. If you are not available on the day of the race, we do have some need for assistance during the week leading up to the race to pick up donations of drinks and other supplies. Student service learning credits are available to middle/high school students. We will need volunteers for all of our categories....race course, registration, refreshments, volunteer check in, children's entertainment, etc.
If you are interested in volunteering, please contact MHA Volunteer Coordinator, Emily Kamin at volunteer@mhamc.org or (301) 424-0656, ext. 541.

Mission Statement
EveryMind strengthens communities and empowers individuals to reach optimal mental wellness.
Description
One in four people will deal with a mental health issue in their lifetime and that one person’s life impacts so many more - families, friends, co-workers, and neighbors to name just a few. We are committed to helpingeveryone recognize that taking care of one’s mental wellness is as important and necessary as taking care of one’s physical wellness. When one of us realizes optimal health, the entire community benefits.
For sixty years, our highly trained, caring, professional staff has provided community education, advocacy, and direct services which empower children, teens, families, older adults and the entire community to reach optimal mental wellness. We were known as Mental Health Association for most of that time, and while we have had a tremendous impact on the mental wellness of our community, we know that there is more work to be done. We have to find a way to move past the stigma that gets in the way of wholeness and wellness.
If we want to live in a healthy community - we need to care for every mind.
