ORGANIZATION: LINC Housing

Child Watch Volunteers at keep kids (between the ages of 1-5) safe, happy, and occupied while parents attend other LINC Cares programming.

Responsibilities include:

  • Creating a safe and fun environment for children ages 1-5
    • With the guidance from RSC, assist in:
      • Creating a safe and fun environment
      • Organizing on-the-fly recreational, and arts & crafts activities
      • Promoting positive social development
      • Mentoring and being a positive role model
      • Setting up & cleaning up program space
  • Build relationships and trust with parents, students and property management
  • Promoting positive social development
  • Mentoring and being a positive role model
  • Setting up & cleaning up of facility
Qualifications:
  • Be at least 18 years of age (exceptions to be made at Volunteer Resources Managers discretion)
  • Possess enthusiasm, patience, a sense of fun, concern for safety and a love of children
  • Communicate well with diverse populations
  • This position requires the volunteer to supervise minors

Child Watch Services take place every3rd Tuesday from 5:30pm - 6:30pm directly at LINC Housing apartments inside the LINC Cares community centers. Our staff and volunteers’ primary goal is to keep kids safe by creating an environment that fosters learning and creativity- free of charge to those most in need.

Learn new skills and have fun, all while improving the lives of low-income youth in our community!

How to Enroll:

Getting involved is as easy as taking 4 simple steps:

  1. Visit our website at: http://www.linchousing.org/linccares/vol_form.html and complete the online application.
  2. You will be contacted within days to schedule an orientation appointment.
  3. Attend an orientation where you will meet onsite staff, receive a tour of the facility, and be given an introduction to LINC and the responsibilities of its volunteers.
  4. You will be contacted after orientation for placement in the activity of your choice.
