GRANT WRITER COMMITTEE

Facilitates, reviews, and edits grant proposals; conducts library and electronic research; compiles data; inputs and retrieves data via computer.

  1. Research current or new foundation and individual sources of support.
    a. Identify potential funders whose giving priorities mesh with the specific programs or projects our client wishes to implement.
    b. Attain relevant information on potential funders.
  2. c. Assess potential to attract support.
  3. Write foundation grant applications and specially-crafted proposals for individual donors:
    a. Research grant application processes to assure that submissions are completed in accordance with the donor’s guidelines.
    b. Perform content research for the development of grant proposals; applications for support; letters of solicitation, intent or interest; and, other correspondence.
    c. Conduct program development activities to support current initiatives and projects of our client’s departments and institutes.
    d. Responsible for the timely preparation of application materials including budget documents, proposals and program descriptions, and all other supporting documentation as required.
  4. Work with program colleagues to prepare reports for funders:
    a. Coordinate preparation of reports with appropriate program staff.
    b. Assure that reports align with funders’ directives.
  5. Enter all actions related to donor contact, cultivation and stewardship into Raiser’s Edge/Neon CRM and ensure that the database is updated.
  6. May coordinate project activities; prepares and processes letters and correspondence.

Maintains comprehensive knowledge of particular areas involved in identifying and soliciting grants; may collaborate with various internal departments.

Conducts research on potential funding sources; maintains contact with external agencies.

Works closely with director of finance in developing and transforming ideas into grant proposals; interacts with GRCF constituencies involved in grant-funding activities; serves as departmental liaison to fund development.

  • One (1) Year

Time Commitment

  • 5-10 hours per month
  • Highly encouraged to attend all events

Kindah(tm) Foundation, Inc., is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization serving all of Florida and the Caribbean. Kindah(tm) Foundation strives to unite friends, families, and the community in the fight against Ovarian and Cervical Cancer through early detection, education, and survivors support services. We believe no female should face cancer alone.

On September 24, 2016, Kindah Foundation launches South Florida’s first-ever "Teal 5K Run/ Fun Walk" dedicated to Ovarian & Gynecologic Cancer Survivors living in South Florida. We receive two proclamations from Broward County and one from the City of Pembroke Pines in support of our efforts to raise awareness on these deadly diseases. The ultimate goal of Kindah Foundation is to save lives through awareness, education, and survivors support services.
