Farmer's Market Education Booth: Invasive Species

Save to Favorites

ORGANIZATION: Conservation Trust for North Carolina

Have you ever heard of an invasive species? Plants and animals that have been brought to an area they don’t belong for a specific purpose or accidently introduced with the result in harming the native ecosystem of that area.

We would love your help reeling people in with trivia and leading activities so booth visitors can learn what invasive species are and how to differentiate them from native species! Volunteers will receive a free "No Wetlands, No Seafood" bumper sticker and the satisfaction of knowing they helped a great cause!

Description

For more than 25 years, the Conservation Trust for North Carolina (CTNC) has helped save the places you love including streams, forests, farms, scenic vistas, wildlife habitat, parks, and trails. CTNC works with local land trusts, landowners, communities, and government agencies to protect natural areas and open spaces, so that all North Carolinians can enjoy safe drinking water, clean air, fresh local foods, and recreational opportunities, for generations to come.
