Help Support our Senior Services Department!

• Assist Receptionist by providing coverage of switchboard and reception for the Round Lake office, maintaining the agency's image through professional greeting and directing of visitors and callers.

• Appropriately interacts with clients and visitors, requiring sensitivity to vulnerable client population.

• Work involves offering general information about Catholic Charities’ services to callers and visitors.

Important Skills

• Good communication skills

• Previous experience with customer service, answering phones, or working with the public

• Ability to multitask

• Ability to observe the confidential nature of the agency's service to its clients

Key Functions

• Professionally greet callers and visitors

• Secure sufficient minimum information necessary to direct calls to appropriate area

• Deal appropriately with problematic clients following pre-established procedures

• Effectively operate multi-line switchboard and answer calls within two to four rings

• May assist with some clerical tasks including sorting mail, preparing mailings, etc.
