Non-Profit community arts organizations looking for High school + community member volunteers.
Do you want to give back to the community?
Do you want to instruct/tutor children?
Do you need to fulfill community service hours at your local congregation and/or high school?
Be part of a growing successful social enterprise and join the INTAKE Organization. We are a music education organization that provides classical and native instrumental instruction to opportunity youth in the Stamford, CT and Fairfield county area. In collaboration with the Unitarian Universalist Church, who hosts our musical lessons in downtown Stamford, we are looking for volunteers that can help a range of children aged 6-16 in an after-school program.
Ideal Volunteer:
- has had musical instruction; can play the Viola, Violin, Charango, or any other instrument
- has worked with children before
- Fast and eager learner
-bilingual in Spanish is a plus!!!!

Description
INTAKE (Instrumentally Native Taking on the classics) is an emerging Stamford-based non-profit organization that promotes music education through multiculturalism and native instruments, founded in 2011 by Angelica Durrell. Since its inaugural year, INTAKE has grown to include six major initiatives: Native Instrument Academy Annual Gala Concert International Women’s Day Concert INTAKE Ensemble International Composition Partnership Native Instrument Collection INTAKE’s core educational program, the Native Instrument Academy, aims to strengthen our local communities by making classical music and native instruments relevant, accessible, and inclusive. Hosted in historical downtown Stamford (at the Unitarian Universalist Congregation), this 38-session music program is entering its fifth year of successful programming.
