The Treasurer is an officer and leader of the Friends of the Livermore Library. The Treasurer maintains complete, accurate, and timely records of all financial transactions of the Friends of the Library. The Treasurer also uses his/her knowledge of the finances not only to support the efforts of the Board, but also to suggest new approaches and directions for the Board to follow.
RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Prepares and presents necessary reports of income, expense, and cash balances to the Board at each regular meeting by overseeing bookstore activity, monthly sales, online sales, and sales at three satellite bookstores.
2. Files the appropriate reports to the federal and state governments in a timely manner;
3. Serves as a responsible member of the Executive Committee of the Friends with the other Board Officers to set agendas for Board meetings and to address pertinent issues between regular Board meetings.
TRAINING
Although not required, general knowledge of bookkeeping and Quickbooks are real assets.
TIME COMMITMENT
Being treasurer is filling an elective office whose term is defined as one year. Only two consecutive terms may be filled.
Approximately 5 hours per week will be spent on treasurer duties. Executive and Board meetings will add an additional two hours each on a bimonthly basis.
Work can be done at home in the evenings or the weekends if desired.
