Food Pantry

Be part of the House of Hope team in our Hobe Sound branch by assisting in the food pantry and the thrift store.

-Food Pantry: Ensure our clients have a dignified experience
"shopping" for the groceries that benefit their households most. Help
out in one of the pantries by sorting donations, stocking shelves,
assisting clients, and checking them out at the end of their shopping
trip.

-Thrift Store: In addition to operating our clothes closet program for
clients, our four thrift stores generate approximately 60% of House
of Hope’s income, allowing us to continue providing vital services to
those in need. Help us sort and price donations, operate the cash
register, keep the sales floor tidy and help customers find that
perfect item!

We also have a need for job coaches, tutors, gardeners, administrative
support, and drivers! Details on volunteer opportunities can be found

Description

Founded in 1984, House of Hope now touches the lives of approximately 7,000 people per month with services that include basic needs - food, clothing, furniture, financial assistance - and long-term case management that helps people build life skills for a more self-sufficient future. The agency has service centers and thrift stores in Stuart, Hobe Sound, Indiantown and Jensen Beach.

Our clients are typically low-wage workers, fixed-income senior citizens, single parents, the recently unemployed and people suffering through personal life crises.

Over the past year, our programs have grown to include several nutrition gardens and an enrichment center which offers free programs and services focusing on education, vocation, health and nutrition and arts and culture.
