Person to capture video for a short show (must have camera)

We're having a short show of short performances within an hour and a half for a Camp Ronald McDonald for Good Times event... we'd love to capture and preserve the performances for others to see online, etc.
Must have a camera that captures digital video (the better quality camera, all the better). Can be set up in one position and record and stop (intermittently).
And be able to transfer footage over that evening, if possible.
Mimimal efforts required...but the technical (and having a camera) is making this worthy of posting, asking for help if we can find it!
