Deliver Happiness!
Birthday Wishes, a local non-profit, is looking for Volunteer Drivers to deliver birthday boxes with party supplies and gifts to children in homeless shelters in the Greater Boston area. Deliveries can only be made during weekday work hours. Great opportunity to do with a friend!
Volunteers are emailed monthly when deliveries are ready and can sign up for a delivery if available. Birthday boxes (with supplies) and gift bags are picked up at our main office in Newton and delivered to area shelters. Some deliveries are small and can be managed with a car and others are larger shelters and an SUV is needed. Minimum age is 18. Driver’s license and vehicle required.

Our goal is to ensure that children experiencing the trauma of homelessness have the opportunity to celebrate their birthday joyfully, surrounded by family, friends and others who care.
Description
Birthday Wishes brings the magic of a birthday party to thousands of homeless children each year. Founded in 2002 as a volunteer organization serving one local shelter, Birthday Wishes has expanded its program to serve more than 200 shelters and transitional living facilities in Massachusetts, Rhode Island and Long Island, New York. In 2019, over 25,000 children experienced the magic of a Birthday Wishes party, due in part to the amazing number of volunteers who help us each month.
