ORGANIZATION: Lititz Meals on Wheels

Making sure shut ins are visited daily
Not only do we deliver meals, we assure loved ones are looked in on at least once a day

Lititz Meals on Wheels is looking for volunteers to serve as cooks and team leaders! We provide the recipies, training and a beautiful professional kitchen! Time comittments vary but average about 3-4 hours a month. No expertise or training necessary, we will provide all you may need. You just provide the great attitude and willingness to serve the community!

Cooks: Responsible for cooking hot meals for clients. Following assigned recipies for the day and assisting in dishing meals in preparating for driver pick up for delivery. Average time: 8am-11am

Team Leaders: Responsible for making sure meal counts are correct, overseeing kitchen and kitchen volunteers for the day, waiting for drivers to return. Average time: 8am-1200pm

Meals on Wheels serves a vital need within the Warwick and surrounding area. This remarkable group on volunteers have been Serving the Warwick area since 1973. This dedicated group of volunteers have joined hands to provide a meal service to those unable to provide it for themselves. Over 1 million meals have been served since 1973.

Description

The preparation and delivery of one hot and one cold nutritionally balanced meal prepared and delivered each weekday, Monday through Friday. This service is offered to convalescents and the disabled or handicapped or to anyone who is unable to prepare nourishing meals for him or herself. Modified special diets available.
