Volunteers are the heart of hospice, and volunteering with Aegis Hospice could be the most meaningful thing you ever do!
Please consider dedicating your time to providing hospice patients and families with companionship, bereavement support, administrative functions, craft projects, pet therapy, and taking part in various events or programs. Military veterans are always needed to help fellow vets on hospice.
We have volunteer opportunities throughout the Phoenix metro area.
Aegis will provide training before volunteer placement. Our training prepares all volunteers for the challenges of working with patients their caregivers, and families. Topics include listening skills, grief and loss, the medical aspects of end-of-life, and the psychosocial and spiritual aspects of care.
Volunteers must be at least 18 years old. A background check is required, along with a current negative TB screening. A current CPR certification is also needed.
