Please join us at Reise Farm to plant shrubs and trees along a crucial area of the farm, near Ball Creek! This last work party is the culmination of two years of hard work by more than 150 volunteers who have given nearly 500 hours to ensure this area stays healthy and is an asset to the future of this sustainable farmland. Together, we'll plant 300 more native plants, which will bring more birds and pollinators to the farm--essential to keeping this sustainable farm system healthy.

We will work hard from 9am-12pm and then enjoy lunch and an apple cider toast in celebration of all our hard work. Whether you've been involved since the beginning or are new to the project - everyone is welcome to share in our excitement!

This event is appropriate for all ages but minors must be accompanied by an adult. Please no pets. Bring along a water bottle, comfortable clothing you don't mind getting dirty, and sturdy close-toed shoes. We will provide gloves and tools.

TO RSVP, please reserve your space here: http://bit.ly/ReiseFarmFallParty

Mission Statement

We are PCC Farmland Trust : a nonprofit, 501 (c)(3) land trust whose mission is to secure, preserve and steward threatened farmland in the Northwest, ensuring that generations of local farmers productively farm using sustainable growing methods. The Farmland Trust takes its mission one step further by working to place farmers on rescued property, actively producing food for the local community.

Description

One thing is certain: everyone, everywhere needs to eat food every day. And as we lose Washington farmland at an incredible rate--23,000 acres each year, about the size of Lake Washington--we are facing a future in which our ability to feed ourselves is severely compromised.

PCC Farmland Trust is leading a call to action and increasing awareness about why it’s so urgent that we save what’s left of one of our most valuable natural resources: farmland.
