ORGANIZATION: Pacific Marine Mammal Center

Pacific Marine Mammal Center is located in Laguna Beach, California. We are the only marine mammal rescue center in Orange County authorized to rescue and rehabilitate marine mammals stranded along the coast of Orange County.

We need an upbeat, detail oriented volunteer to help us with administrative and clerical tasks. Each day may be different - and fun - depending on the time of year or on our event and education program schedules.

Data entry a plus!

Administrative Duties - General

  • Answering phones in a professional manner, taking messages or voice mail transfers
  • Provides information to public/donors/visitors by answering questions and requests.
  • Photocopying/creating materials, faxing, coordinating meetings, mailing packages, maintaining files as directed by departmental staff.

Administrative Duties - Education:

  • Provide additional program information to callers
  • Scheduling all education programs with clients
  • Forwarding payment information to Office Manager for processing
  • Sending out confirmation emails for programs booked
  • Provide clerical and program set up/break down back-up, as needed, to Education Director and Education Coordinator.
  • Assist scheduling Education Docent Volunteers

Administrative Duties - Development:

  • Assisting with all Development related tasks/projects/campaigns/advertising as needed.

Description

Pacific Marine Mammal Center was the first marine mammal rehabilitation facility in California and was established prior to the Marine Mammal Protection Act of 1972. We now share the responsibility for marine mammal rehabilitation with six other centers along the California’s coastline. At Pacific Marine Mammal Center, we love our volunteers! We utilize volunteers to help us with our animal care, docent & education, and gift shop needs.
