The Mary Moon Foundation is looking for volunteers to help drive the success of our foundation through assisting with fundraising campaigns. As our foundation continues to grow, our needs to drive and help execute the annual campaign continues to expand.

Our organization is seeking Charity Development Representatives (CDR) to help our Board of Directors succeed with our 2016 fundraising goals. These volunteers will work with our Project Manager and Board of Directors to engage with corporations to maintain current, and establish new, financial donations. The CDR will also work with businesses of all sizes to help procure items for our organization’s silent and online auctions.

The CDR positions will begin this fall and assist us through our March 2016 event with the option to continue next year. The estimated number of hours vary by week and month. Between October and January the position may require 2-4 hours per week. By February most of their contribution would be completed, we anticipate only needing 1-2 hours per week to conclude any prior activity or follow up conversations.

Interested parties should be committed to making the time investment required. We will interviewing candidates as they apply.

Mission Statement

The Mary Moon Foundation - Helping hospitalized children feel "over the moon" with essential childhood activities. Our mission is to conduct fundraising events to help finance art supplies, toys and games for the University of Minnesota Children’s Hospital to help children enjoy life as much as every child should. We support critically ill children and their families by providing the hospital with additional resources to ease the enormous strain and effort on children and their families during the period of hospitalization. As a family that lost their daughter to cancer, Peter and Christine O’Keefe created the foundation to help support future families and their children in ways they were fortunate to be supported.

Description

Our goals are to support the University of Minnesota Children’s Hospital and other organizations servicing the needs of hospitalized children fighting critical diseases or in a children’s hospice program. Through our support those organizations can assist children and families with additional comfort and help filling their short lives with as much joy as possible. Our fundraising efforts help supply a variety of items to keep hospitalized children at ease and mentally growing during their time of treatment. We help supplement the lack of resources families have during times of duress while fighting serious childhood diseases. Our support typically provides items such as arts and crafts supplies, toys, games, movies, and other entertainment and educational items.
