This is an ongoing opportunity for someone who is detail oriented, punctual, likes to walk downtown in San Rafael and hopes to fill an hour or so in your afternoon. We need someone who can arrive at Noon on Monday or Friday to San Rafael City Hall Mail Room. The volunteer will stamp and prepare outgoing mail using a stamp machine. After this processing is complete, the volunteer walks to the D Street Post Office to drop off the outgoing mail using a hand cart and picks up incoming mail. (If it is raining, a staff person can drive the volunteer to the post office.) Upon returning to City Hall the volunteer will sort the incoming mail into department boxes.
Time Commitment: Noon to 1:30 weekly (The end time may vary slightly due to the amount of mail). Open volunteer shifts are on Monday and Fridays. Please consider these days.
