English & More is seeking tutors to work with individuals or small groups as educational/language coaches. Our primary areas of focus are English language instruction, GED test preparation, and US Citizenship test preparation. Curriculum is provided. Major requirements are functional literacy skills, interest in other people, and an encouraging attitude.

We are currently meeting with clients via online platforms such as Zoom or FaceTime. As a result, we have students form around the world meeting with current volunteers. Volunteers are able to set their own times and group size, from one-on-one sessions to small groups. We welcome new volunteers throughout the year and would love to share our mission with you.

The mission of English & More is to empower culturally diverse people to improve their quality of life. We do this by providing a welcoming and supportive environment, English Language instruction, literacy instruction, citizenship test preparation and GED test preparation help. We also provide homework support to students at a Frederick elementary school.

Description

English & More is a volunteer-driven organization that provides educational support for children through adults. We focus on individualized or small group instruction that meets the students' unique needs and existing literacy skills. Approximately 50 students come to our Hagerstown location. We also have locations in Frederick, MD.
