Family Promise of Harrisburg Capital Region (FPHCR) is a nonprofit organization assisting local families experiencing homelessness. At FPHCR, our mission is to empower families through relationships and skill building to move from homelessness to home.
In order to continue our work in the local community, FPHCR must secure private funding from foundations and other grant-making organizations. We need someone to assist with the grant writing process.
Responsibilities include
- Persuasively communicating FPHCR's mission and programs to potential funders;
- Assembling and submitting grant requests including letters, proposals, budgets, and presentations;
- Establishing and maintaining personal contact and relationships with foundation contacts and program officers;
- Ensuring prompt acknowledgement of foundation gifts;
- Maintaining calendar to ensure timely submission of letters of inquiry, proposal deadlines, and reports;
- Conducting prospect research;
- Prioritizing projects to keep multiple projects moving in a timely manner, meet deadlines, and manage supplemental material required for proposals;
- Providing writing support for major donor and individual contribution letters and acknowledgements.

Family Promise of Harrisburg Capital Region is a nonprofit organization helping local families experiencing homelessness. We partner with community leaders, businessmen and women, volunteers and 20 faith communities in Cumberland, Dauphin, and northern York county to provide food, shelter, and case management for families as they work to secure stable housing.
