Will you teach a class on legal issues for residents of Faith House Florida?

Faith House Florida has previously hosted a weekly one hour class which a local attorney would discuss issues with residents that could affect them. Issues included, lost identification, stolen ID, parole, outstanding warrants, restituion, community service hours, and other topics which the residents would suggest.

The attorney would also offer to visit with residents on an individual basis to discuss their particular concerns.

This class was very popular and residents were disappointed when the attorney could not continue. We would like to restart the class for our residents.

If the attorney accepting this volunteer position would also like to serve on the board of directors for Faith House Florida, we would be glad to discuss that dual position.

TO PROVIDE THE VITAL SERVICE LINK BETWEEN EXPENSIVE TREATMENT AND SUCCESSFUL INDEPENDENT LIVING FOR HOMELESS INDIVIDUALS WHO SUFFER FROM CHRONIC CHEMICAL ADDICTION AS WELL AS A SAFE SOBER-LIVING HAVEN FOR OTHER HOMELESS INDIVIDUALS.

Description

WE PROVIDE A TRANSITIONAL HOUSING PROGRAM FOR MEN AND WOMEN WHICH INCLUDES WORKING WITH 12-STEP MEETINGS AND SMART RECOVERY CLASSES (WHICH ARE BASED ON RATIONAL EMOTIVE THERAPY).

WE ARE MOSTLY SUPPORTED BY OUR MINIMAL PROGRAM FEES WHICH INCLUDES HOUSING AND THREE VERY GOOD MEALS EACH DAY AS WELL AS SNACKS. THE FEES ARE PAID BY OUR EMPLOYED RESIDENTS, BUT OF COURSE MOST ARE UNEMPLOYED UPON ADMISSION.

WE HAVE A NON-DENOMINATION AND NON-MANDITORY CHRISTIAN CHURCH SERVICE FOR AN HOUR ON SUNDAY.

WE HAVE A BEAUTIFUL COMMUNITY GARDEN AND WELCOME VOLUNTEERS IN GARDENING.

WE HAVE AN ART VAN AND OFFER LESSONS OR JUST PARTICIPATION TWO EVENINGS A WEEK.
