Families to Freedom is seeking volunteers with exceptional Internet research skills with excellent problem solving skills. You will be securing volunteer drivers, reserving car rental arrangements, contacting shelters and other service providers by phone, organizing and gathering travel materials for use by other volunteers, and assisting with other needs as required by drivers or pilots. You will also be communicating with the families of the survivors so a pleasant and professional demeanor is a must. You will be working in a group oriented environment so you must be able to work well with other volunteers and at times with little or no supervision. While not handling travel arrangements, volunteers will: build upon the existing organization’s resources; assist with developing operational training and corresponding curricula; and, assist wherever our greatest need is at the moment. Transport agents must be amenable to continued staff development and cross-training opportunities, including taking inbound calls.

This position requires a background check before being considered.

Primary Job Duties Include:

Research and make arrangements for client travel needs during the assigned shifts.

• Assess the transportation needs of the client
• Assess the volunteer best suited for transporting the client
• Depending upon the remaining immediate needs of the client, the agent will:
• Contact a client’s family to inform them of our client requests
• Contact area shelters for vacancy and/or driving directions
• Reserve a vehicle used for transportation
• Assign a fuel card needed for the trip
• Present client travel needs to the Volunteer Coordinator

Monday-Friday: 8am-5pm
