What’s the project?
Orgill,a distributor to hardware stores serving the central, eastern and southern US, is having a HUGE convention here that ends on Saturday August 29 th. The ReStore has been chosen as the beneficiary of all the exhibitors’ beneficiary of all the exhibitors' merchandise and display items - including tools, lawn & garden equipment, furniture, lighting and more - when the tradeshow is over. This is an incredible opportunity for our ReStore to opportunity for our ReStore to stock its shelves with high quality, brand new merchandise. This will provide the community with major savings on home improvement supplies and help New Orleans Area Habitat for Humanity build and repair more homes for hardworking local families.
We are recruiting lots of volunteers to help pack everything at the convention center and then also help unload it back at the ReStore. Since this will be such a large donation, the process of loading, unloading, organizing and pricing will take a few days. That’s where we need YOU! I promise it’ll be fun and worth your while. Join us for one of the shifts below and you will receive lunch/dinner as well as a ReStore discount card...all while making new friends and helping New Orleans Area Habitat for Humanity.
Don’t worry, we’ve got early shifts and late shifts. So, whether you’re an early bird or a night owl, we’ve got a place for you!

Sunday August 30 th--10:00am-3:30pm and 3:30pm-10:00pm

Mission Statement
To responsibly build communities where families can thrive, in homes they can afford.
Description
New Orleans' citizens are faced with many issues which affect their quality of life. The question of safe, affordable housing may be the most pressing.Habitat helps to build homes for low- to-moderate income partners in need of secure, quality housing at an affordable price. We help families break out of the cycle of low-quality properties with high rent payments and into the world of reasonable payments toward home ownership.
NOAHH has many opportunities for volunteers to get invovled! We have new construction and home repair projects, as well as volunteer projects in our ReStore, and in the Habitat Urban Gardens (HUGs).
We'd love to have you join us!
